I recently had to face the harsh reality that as a submissive, people pleasing, codependent in relationships, over the years I’ve found myself in several situations in my life ranging from uncomfortable to actually dangerous. These experiences involved physical abuse, emotional abuse, narcissistic abuse, and financial abuse. I’ve had my life threatened, I’ve been swindled out of tens of thousands of dollars, and I’ve been deeply emotionally manipulated and hurt. I’ve had experiences with a partner that turned out to be a murderer, another erratic criminal with bipolar disorder, and a few other extreme personalities including both overt and covert narcissists.
The silver lining I’ve found around these tough experiences is that with the knowledge I’ve gained and by researching every step of the way, I’m now able to share the tools and resources I’ve collected to help others recognize the signs and signals of harmful behavior and dangerous situations. I hope I may help someone out there struggling with these topics, offer guidance to navigate out of an unsafe environment, and learn how to trust your gut. I may trickle in tidbits of info on values, character and healthy habits because those can be just as helpful!
As for my quick bio:
I’m a 39 year old architect turned business owner from Seattle and am no stranger to the dating life of the city; I’ve lived in Downtown Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas and Miami. An intellect and academic at heart, I’m also an empath who sits rigorously in her feelings and thoughts. I’m a woman who has had an interesting dating past, to say the least. In the wake of my blundering relationship fails, I’m determined to turn some negatives into positives by sharing my story even when it’s uncomfortable. I hope to incite dialogue around these topics while also helping others better understand themselves and the complicated world around us in relationships.
